In the 2015 edition Michelin has awarded the substantial number of 18 restaurants their first Michelin star, taking the number of one-star restaurants in Switzerland up to 96. Among the new entries are: Maison Manesse and Sankt Meinrad in Zürich, Les Quatre Saisons in Basel, Sens in Vitznau (Lake Lucerne) and PRISMA at the Lake Lucerne Parkhotel Vitznau. The second restaurant of Parkhotel Vitznau, Restaurant Focus, debuted with two Michelin stars in the 2014 guide. The hotel is famous for its 30,000 bottle wine collection valued at Sfr 25 million. Eleven restaurants have lost their star in the 2015 guide.
Both Restaurant de l'Hôtel de Ville in Crissier (chef: Benoît Violier) and Schloss Schauenstein in Fürstenau (chef: Andreas Caminada) have maintained their three-star status. No changes in the two-star category either, the number of two-star restaurants in Switzerland still stands at 19.
Also announced today were the Bib Gourmand results. The 2015 guide features 111 restaurants (12 new entries) in the Bib Gourmand category (3-course meal for 65 Swiss francs).

The Switzerland guide concludes the European Michelin cycle for 2014. The 2015 France guide will be out in February 2015, followed by the 1st edition of the new Nordic Countries guide and finally the Main Cities of Europe guide.
